Racepoint Group Expands Operations to Asia {W2 Group}

Acquisition of PPR Greater China Establishes Strong Asian Presence for Racepoint

Waltham, Mass., January 5, 2011 -– Racepoint Group, a global public relations agency defining the new model of communications through a deep understanding of traditional and social media, has expanded its operations to Asia by acquiring PPR Greater China. Effective immediately, PPR Greater China becomes Racepoint Group Asia with headquarters in Hong Kong and other offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore.

"We are very excited about PPR Greater China becoming a part of Racepoint Group," said Larry Weber, Chairman, Racepoint Group. "An important part of our vision is to build a global agency that works with clients in an increasingly global economy. With half the world's population and some of the fastest growing economies in Asia, it is important for Racepoint to have a strong presence in the region. PPR has a terrific team and we share a common vision of the future of public relations, and especially, on the evolution of traditional and social media. In addition, PPR has an impressive roster of brand-name clients, a strong commitment to client service, deep expertise in the same vertical market sectors, and invests in new service and employee development. We look forward to working closely with the team in Asia to further strengthen and grow our business globally."

PPR Greater China, founded in 2001, is one of the leading integrated communications consultancies in Asia, with a portfolio of Fortune 500 companies, NGOs, multinationals and professional bodies that are supported by a cutting-edge approach to delivering targeted and focused publicity campaigns. The agency has also been at the forefront of social media in Asia and offers clients a comprehensive set of digital media relations services including online content creation and distribution, blogger outreach and e-community engagement.

As a result of PPR Greater China becoming a part of Racepoint Group, Tony Turner, formerly Managing Director of PPR Greater China, is now Chairman, Racepoint Group Asia. In his new role, Turner will continue to work on the firm's vision and overall strategic direction. Turner has worked in the communications field for more than 40 years as a journalist, in-house PR executive and consultant. He also has extensive corporate and financial consulting experience with China-based companies having first visited there in 1981.

Andrew Laxton, formerly Director of PPR Greater China, is now Managing Director, Racepoint Group Asia. In his new role, Laxton will work closely with Racepoint Group's executive team to strengthen and expand the firm's capabilities and services worldwide. With more than two decades of experience in the communications industry and based in Asia since 1993, Laxton has been responsible for driving regional planning for a wide range of companies including First Data Corp., United Technologies Corp., Misys, LIU, CPA Australia, General Motors, P&G and Philips. "Becoming a part of Racepoint Group is a great opportunity to provide new and expanded services to our clients, gain access to new growth opportunities and to provide more professional programs for our team members," said Tony Turner, newly appointed Chairman of Racepoint Group Asia. "Both PPR and Racepoint share a common vision 3 of the market opportunity and the evolution of public relations and media.
